The Big Red Barn has existed in the mind of Melissa Durel (AKA
Ms. Missy) for over 10 years. Melissa has taught thousands of
children in a variety of settings, including The Creative Dance
Center, St. Tammany Parish Public Schools, Tots-N-Tunes Music
Appreciation for Preschoolers, STPH Parenting Center, and 20+
area preschools.

The Big Red Barn is located in Ponchatoula,
LA, right across the tracks from Berry Town

The Big Red Barn takes its name from its original location
on Weinberger Road. While we are no longer located next
door to an actual red barn, we continue to carry it with us
in spirit.
The Big Red Barn is housed in an adorable cottage in
downtown Ponchatoula. When you enter you are greeted
by a colorful, cheerful play room filled with toys. The play
room is used for songs, stories, circle time, music games,
creative movement, and free play. Through a pair of
french doors is our art room. This room is filled with light
and color and is perfect for the myriad of creative art
activities The Big Red Barn has to offer.
